   Classes are focused on the understanding of the underlying structure of tango emphasizing its improvisational nature. The student will be introduced to the basic concepts in a progressive way rather than by memorizing patterns. Like when we learn a language, the best approach is to introduce the structure (grammar) and elements (words) so the student will be able to put together his/her own movements (sentences) while dancing. Social tango is a dance danced with other people around, navigation of the floor is part of the tango learning. The student will learn to work and dance within the space he/she creates and to control where one ends up as opposed to other methods where the movements dictate where one goes and ends up.
